About this statement

This statement sets out information about credit reporting. It is relevant to you if you are applying to Larnec for credit. In this statement, credit related information includes but is not limited to the following information about you:

  • information that we may disclose to a credit reporting body;
  • information that we obtain from credit reporting bodies; and
  • information that we derive from such information, for example, a credit score.

Disclosure of credit-related personal information to credit reporting bodies

We may disclose credit-related personal information about you in connection with an application for credit. The credit reporting bodies (“CRBs”) we deal with are not limited to Equifax Australia, Illion Australia, Experian Australia and Creditor Watch. Your rights in relation to credit-related information

Under the Privacy Act and the CR Code, you have certain rights in relation to credit-related information we hold about you, including:

  • the right to access and correct the credit-related personal information that we hold about you;
  • the right to make a complaint about our handling of credit-related personal information;
  • the right to tell CRBs not to use your credit reporting information to determine your eligibility to receive marketing from credit providers; and
  • the right ask a CRB  to put a ban on using or disclosing your credit reporting information if you think you have been, or are likely to be, a victim of fraud.

Other matters

If you fail to meet your payment obligations in relation to consumer credit or commit a serious credit infringement, we may be entitled under the Privacy Act to disclose this to a credit reporting body. Any such report by us may affect your ability in the future to be able to obtain further credit.
