Bibra Lake BMX Club Facility Upgrade – Western Sheds & Larnec Ventilation Solutions

The Bibra Lake BMX Club hosts Bicycle Motocross events across the year, bringing together enthusiasts for the sport. In April 2023 the club required a new and upgraded facility encompassing refreshed areas for event hosting and gathering of members and watchers including family and friends.
As part of this refresh, local shed builder and contractor Fair Dinkum Builds Western Sheds was contracted for a new large shed to be added to the development. This case study showcases how Larnec, a leading manufacturer of insulation and building components, partnered with Western Sheds to overcome a complex ventilation challenge in this community project using Larnec products.

The Challenge:

The primary challenge of this project stemmed from its location. The BMX club’s new facility was contracted to be built on reclaimed land which increases the potential for gas accumulation beneath the structure. This environmental factor necessitated added attention to detail when it came to the design criterion of the structure. To ensure adequate safety and compliance with local regulations, the design focused on increased standards for ventilation, ensuring that the right products and materials were used to create well-ventilated spaces.

The project required a ventilation system that would:

Provide adequate airflow throughout the structure to prevent the accumulation of gases from the ground.
Meet stringent safety standards for buildings constructed on reclaimed land.
Integrate seamlessly with the overall design of the building.

The Solution:

Larnec rose to the challenge by providing a comprehensive solution that addressed all of Fair Dinkum Builds Western Sheds’ needs. The solution comprised three key components.

Fixed Wall Vents [VFWV.912BM]

Larnec designed and supplied 11 wall vents, perfectly suited to meet the project’s unique airflow requirements. Chosen for their strength and durability these fixed external wall vents swiftly provided airflow to the structure.
