Kilmore Racecourse Case Study
Project Overview
Larnec is proud to have supplied the steel-clad doors for Kilmore Racecourse’s new barn and tie-up stalls, a state-of-the-art facility built to protect trainers and horses through the toughest race meetings.
The build was delivered as part of a more than $4.4 million investment, backed by the Victorian Government’s Racing Industry Fund alongside contributions from Kilmore Racing Club, Racing Victoria and Harness Racing Victoria. It’s part of a broader pattern of government and industry investment in regional racing infrastructure across Victoria, supporting the dozens of trainers and 140-plus horses based at Kilmore.
The Facility
The new barn includes wide internal pathways for safe passage, a dedicated trainers’ area, wash bays, a veterinary area and an indoor parade ring, giving Kilmore’s racing community modern, weather-protected infrastructure to train and prepare in year-round.
Larnec supplied all of the external steel-clad doors for the build. Our doorsets were selected to stand up to the demands of a working equine facility day in, day out, handling constant traffic, exposure to the elements, and the wear that comes with a hardworking barn environment.
As Kilmore Racing Club Chairman Ian Wood put it:
“These facilities will prove immensely valuable both during race meetings and for those in training here at Kilmore.”
Built For Barns, Sheds and Stables
Kilmore is a strong example of what Larnec brings to sports, agricultural and equine facilities: durable, purpose-built door solutions engineered for high-traffic, high-demand environments. Whether it’s a racecourse barn, a stable complex, or a shed housing valuable equipment and livestock, our steel-clad doors are built to handle the daily knocks, weather exposure and heavy use these facilities go through.
With continued investment in regional racing and agricultural infrastructure across Victoria, Larnec is well placed to support the next wave of barn, shed and stable builds with door solutions that are made to last.
Working closely with C3 Construction Group, Larnec designed, manufactured and supplied two customised fire-rated door systems tailored to each application.
